Join Latitude 48 Paddling Club for Bridges 2025, a fast paced 5km race on the Gorge Waterway in Victoria, BC.

On Saturday, October 4th, OC6 heats will run throughout the day (9:00am to 3:00pm) with divisions for novices, men, women, mixed and junior crews. Gender and mixed crews will run separately, allowing paddlers to race in multiple divisions. Spec canoes for the OC6 race are provided, just bring your crew, paddles and pfd! PFDs must be Canadian Coast Guard Certified. Cost is $25 per paddler/$150 per crew.

OC6 Registration closes Sept. 27th, 9:00 p.m. or when the race grid is full, whichever comes first!

On Sunday, October 5th, bring your own boat to race the Inny (5 km race in protected waters waters ideal for new racers, marathon canoes, SUPs and even experienced paddlers that want a shorter distance. Cost is $26 per paddler.

Inny Registration closes Oct. 4, 6:00 p.m.

Or race the Outty (12 km race that heads out of the Victoria harbour, past Saxe Point and back). Course may be modified on race day depending on wind and wave conditions. modifications on race day should conditions be too big for most.

CORA Member IVF Feedback Survey

The International Va’a Federation’s (IVF) Board has been reviewing the sustainability and viability of running a World Championship every year. It has identified some weaknesses in the current schedule and begun discussion of two new options. The IVF Board wants to give member federations the opportunity to provide feedback as they move forward to make the IVF and our sport stronger and more sustainable. The IVF Board has identified two alternate options to our current schedule. To analyze these options, please view the summary of the options here.  This document goes over the rational, strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities. 

CORA would like input from OUR members before we submit feedback to the IVF. As you go through this survey, please take the time to think about your personal situation as well as the development possibilities for the country along with the organizational demands and possible organizational change that may be required within CORA to fulfill your suggestions. Change is needed, change takes time, change takes people, and often funding. 

As you put forth your feedback, please be solution-focused. 

This survey is anonymous if you choose it to be. As we have many forward-thinking members, we would like the opportunity to follow up on suggestions made here. In order to do that, we have provided a space for you to provide your name and email address if you so chose.

NEW: Fees Reduced for Team Canada Trials – IVF World Sprints 2026

Good news! CORA has reduced the registration fees for the 2026 IVF World Sprints Team Canada Selection Trials:

  • Adults: $80
  • Juniors (under 19): $40

If you’ve already paid the old fee, you’ll get an automatic refund for the difference. If you haven’t yet paid, read on:

Trials Weekend: September 20–21, 2025 / Calgary, AB

Who needs to attend the Calgary Trials?

  • V1 (solo) paddlers: All athletes trying for V1 spots.
  • Elite candidates: Junior and open men and women wanting to qualify for seats in Canada’s elite teams.
  • Registered club crews in gender and age categories that exceed 6 registered teams will need to race-off in Calgary to earn one of the 6 team berths in each age and gender category; CORA will announce categories that require race-offs shortly after club crew registrations close on 30 August.
