Freshwater Challenge, June 22, 2025, Vernon, BC

The first year of the restart is on the books and was very successful. 
Join Vernon Paddling Centre on the waters of Okanagan Lake for this 40K beach change-out race.
Changes may be performed at the beach, off-shore floating in the water, or a mix of both depending on who’s getting in! This can be a great introduction to change races for novices.

DATE: Sunday, June 22nd, 2025
START TIME: 8:00am
LOCATION: Kin Beach, Vernon, BC
COST: $30 per paddler on your crew (i.e. $360 for 12; $270 for 9)

CREWS
Crews can have up to 12 paddlers.
Official Crews – For official status, on every second lap (i.e. either laps 1, 3, 5 and 7 or laps 2, 4, 6, and 8) your crew must be all women, while the other laps can have all men or any mix of women and men.
Unofficial Crews – each crew can be any mix of women and men.  

40K CHANGE RACE
This race is a 40 km team event, consisting of 8 laps of 5 km each.
There will be one change per 5 km lap.
You can schedule full or partial crew changes as you like, noting the requirement of alternating all-women crews for official status.

Race start will be the famous Vernon LeMans-style beach start.
