FCRCC March Madness OC6 Race, March 22 & 23, 2025, Vancouver, BC

Yikes! There’s just a few days left to the deadline!  ‼️

​It’s time to register your team for March Madness, presented by FCRCC’s Vancouver VA’A Racing Program.

This fun and fast-paced V6 event takes place on Saturday, March 22, and Sunday, March 23. Open crews (Men’s, Women’s and Mixed) are expected to race on Saturday, and Masters’ crews (Women, Men and Mixed) as well as Breast Cancer Survivor crews are expected to race on Sunday. 
Heats will run all day, beginning at 8:30 am and ending by 4:00 pm.

Canoes will be provided.

Annual Kan-U-Hakit OC6 Sprints (16 March) SOLD OUT / See you at the start line!

This 1500m annual crewboat sprint race, with 3 advancements over a day of racing, sells out early. A fleet of “Advantage” crew boats are supplied, along with draw prizes and hot food and beverages. Registration for the 2025 race is well over half sold (as of early February).

THE RACE COURSE
FGPC Kan-U-Hakit takes place at the Fairway Gorge Paddling Club (FGPC) along the Selkirk waterfront in Victoria. This OC6 race is a 1500m sprint on a 500m course, requiring 2 buoy turns. A three-lane race course runs north/south between Bay Street Bridge (start line) and FGPC (finish line).

TEAM INFORMATION

  • Divisions included are women, mixed and men, with seeded heats followed by semi finals. The fastest six semi finalist teams in each category advance to the final heats at the end of the day.
  • The same crews of 6 must race in each race.
  • All teams must check in with the boathouse office before 9:00 am on race day. All participants must be valid 2025 CORA members.

NOPC 2025 Crazy 8 OC6s And NPI Attack Small-Boats

Saturday 2025-Mar-8 Crazy 8 OC6 racecourse is a 11-12km figure-eight beginning at Brechin Boat Ramp, looping around Saysutshun (Newcastle Island Marine Park) and Protection Islands. Crazy 8 OC6 race fees are $150/crew. Sunday 2025-Mar-9 NPI Attack Small-Boat racecourse is also a 11-12km figure-eight beginning at Brechin Boat Ramp, looping around Saysutshun (Newcastle Island Marine Park) and Protection Islands. NPI Attack Small-Boat race fees are $20/person.

Please note that registration for NOPC 2025 Crazy 8 OC6 and NPI Attack Small-Boats is now open online via Ramp Registration or in-person on race day. CORA Memberships must be paid in advance.
