Double-Hull Orientation Coaching Clinic

Creekside Paddling Centre in Vancouver (Olympic Village)

Dragon Zone will be hosting an outrigger canoe double-hull clinic at Creekside Paddling Centre in Vancouver (Olympic Village).

The clinic has been rescheduled to Sunday January 22, 2017 due to expected cold and icy conditions on Sunday January 8, 2017.

Format

  • There will be four 1.5 hour sessions.
  • Two outrigger canoe double-hulls will be provided for each of the 4 sessions.
  • Each 1.5 hour session will consist of a dry-land and an on-water component.

The dry-land component will cove:

  • CORA membership registration
  • CORA rigging resources
  • CORA race rules
  • local / international double-hull events
  • race day planning
  • event etiquette
  • double-hull rigging / paddling / steering

The on-water component will cover paddling / steering for 500M OC Sprints (lanes / staging / starts) courses and 5K triangle distance courses.

Registration

CORA Coaching Clinic Grant of $600 will enable setting fees at $15/person.

Paddlers may register as individuals or as teams.

2016 World Sprints – Canadian Time Trials – DONE!

Congratulations to all those who competed in CORA time trials.

Results have been posted online under Race Results.   You will be contacted before October 20th by the Sprint Council group to accept your position on an National crew, as well as acceptance of your V1 Solo seat if qualified.  Commitment to the team is necessary to provide paddlers with security to purchase flight and accommodations

Once the top crews have been determined, further pre-determined crews can be submitted to fill our canoe allotment of 6 canoes per category.

IVF Va’a World Elite & Club Sprint Championships 2016

On behalf of the IVF, the Australian Outrigger Canoe Racing Association are hosting the 2016 IVF Va’a World Elite & Club Sprint Championships at Lake Kawana on Australia’s Sunshine Coast. We invite you to join us!

The Va’a World Sprints will be the largest ever and we encourage all IVF member paddlers to grasp the opportunity to be part of this world class multi-national event.  Team Canada will be selected after the October time trials to participate from May 5th to May 15th 2016.  Register you Intent to Compete now!
